Good Cheer is Now Here*

Jesus said "In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world" Jn. 16:33. Often Jesus said these words to His disciples when He walked here . . "Be of good cheer." It means: "Exercise courage, be bold, be confident, have confidence." The very presence of Jesus is good cheer.

Paul said, "Be of good cheer for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me" Ac. 27:25. Paul spoke these words on ship with hundreds of disheartened men. Paul was positive, confident in the midst of certain disaster because of God's Word to him!

I can be of good cheer, and challenge others to the same, because "God hath said . . . So we may boldly say" Heb. 13:5‑6. Everything that God has said in His Word, we may boldly say the same thing! I shall speak often, "Be of good cheer," in this day of turmoil. I can radiate this unmistakable assurance to cheer others.

"Let the redeemed of the Lord say so" Ps. 107:2. When I know my rights in Christ, I dare SAY SO! "I am redeemed" Col. 1:12. "I am a burden bearer" Gal. 6:2. "I am a forgiver" Mt. 6:13‑14. "I am steadfast and unmoveable" I Cor. 15:58. I AM who God says I am! I dare to say so.

No more hesitation or wandering aimlessly. I know the Word and the Author of it. To speak and act God's Word isn't a leap in the dark. No longer am I unsettled or indecisive. In every storm of life, I speak to my heart, "Be of good cheer." Hallelujah, I am confident: "Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in me will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ" Ph. 1:6.

Everywhere I go I spread Good Cheer. I restore those overtaken (Gal. 6:1). I minister healing to the sick (Mk. 16:18). By my words I bring strength to the weak (Rom. 15:1). I speak positive truths that liberate people from negative, gloomy, pessimistic living (Jn. 8:32).

Good cheer is now here. Good cheer is Jesus, and He lives within me (Gal. 2:20). In view of these sure and dynamic facts, I am filled with courage, very confident in Christ, bold as a lion and strong in faith!
