HOW TO PRAY AND GET RESULTS*

FIRST: Prayer is the way God has appointed that He will work in behalf of humanity. God will do little or nothing for us, unless we ask Him. (James 4:2.) He says, "Call unto me and I will answer thee." (Jeremiah 33:3) Real prayer is simply asking God and expecting to receive the answer!

SECOND: "Come boldly to the throne of grace that you may obtain mercy and find grace to help in the time of need." (Hebrews 4:16) This is the Bible way to come to God: With boldness, which means confidence and assurance that you are very welcome. Then remove from your life hindrances to receiving answers ‑ an unclean heart and a wrong spirit. Confess your sins to God and ask Him to renew within you a right spirit. (Psalm 51:10).

THIRD: Who can pray and get results? Paul did. So did Daniel, David, Elijah and Abraham. Why? "The effectual fervent prayers of the righteous availeth much." (James 5:16) But who is righteous today? You are! Knowing that you are righteous is the greatest foundation for a prayer life that gets results. You being righteous is based only on what Jesus has done for you. (2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 10:10) As a righteous person, you have influence with God!

FOURTH: "The effectual fervent prayers of the righteous availeth much." Gets results! What does it mean to be righteous? It means you have the ability to stand in God's presence without any sense of sin, guilt or unworthiness. Into God's presence you have come boldly through the blood of Jesus. Heb. 10:19).

FIFTH: Pray about everything (Philippians 4:6). Dare to ask God for miracles (John 16:23‑24). "When you pray, believe that you receive and you shall have." (Mark 11:24) Only believing prayer gets results from God. Ask the Father in Jesus' Name. Then believe you have received . . . and you shall have! Now shift from praying to praising! You are fully persuaded that what God has promised, He will perform! Romans 4:21.

SIXTH: Cease struggling; you have committed your need into God's hands. Rest in the sure promises of God. You have "planted" your request by prayer; "water" it with much praise; expect God to give the "increase"! 1 Corinthians 3:6‑8. And He will!
