I FIND GRACE IN THIS PLACE*

(This is an ACTION message.  Make a decision by filling in the blank space provided at the end of each point.)

Point #1:

The Place of Early Rising.  Jesus' example of meeting the Father: "In the morning, rising up a great while before day, He went out and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed" Mark 1:35.  Meeting the Lord first in the morning is indeed the place of grace.  "My voice shalt thou hear in the morning.  O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up" Psalm 5:3.  It's a good time to sing, too, unto the Lord: "I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning" Psalm 59:16.  The price of spiritual power is drawing nigh to God FIRST: "O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee; my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; to see thy power and thy glory . . . Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise Thee.  I will lift up my hands in thy Name.  My mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips" Psalm 63:1‑5.  My decision: I shall arise for prayer at __________________.

Point #2:

The Place of Fasting. The true spirit of fasting is important (Isaiah 58:6,7).  Fasting should be unto God (Matthew 6:18), and should not be a subject of display (Matthew 6:16).  Extraordinary results usually accompany fasting with prayer.  Jesus clearly taught we should fast, just as we should pray and give (Matthew 6).  Christ made it clear that certain kinds of demon power can be cast out only by prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29).  The early Christians fasted on Wednesday and Friday until 3 p.m.  John Wesley and his Methodists followed the same plan. Set aside specific time each week for fasting.  My decision: I shall fast _________________________________.

Point #3:

The Place of Family Worship.  Spiritual leaders agree that family worship is very important.  It should be made so pleasant to be looked forward to with gladness, even by the youngest children.  Family altar should consist of Bible reading, scripture quoting, Bible quizzes, Bible stories, and crowned with prayer together. My decision: Family worship shall be at ____________________________________.

Point #4:

The enemy is viciously opposed to your practicing these three graces.  Be persistent.  You will indeed find wondrous grace in the places: early rising for prayer, fasting and family worship.
