I See I Am FREE!*

By Don Gossett

"Let the oppressed go free" Isaiah 58:6.

(This card is a vital Confession of Faith. Speak it aloud. Make it personal).

1.  I see I am free from the "traditions of men which make the Word of God of none effect" Mark 7:13.  I know the truth . . . the truth has made me free (John 8:32).  In the battle of Truth versus Tradition, I submit to the Truth (God's Word), and I triumph. Tradition restricts, limits, muzzles and enslaves.

2.  In the prison house of Tradition, I was shackled by fear, chained by theory, put into the straightjacket of convention, handcuffed to men‑pleasing, and suppressed by superiors. But "the Son therefore has made me free, and I am free indeed" John 8:36.

3.  Now I "stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ has made me free," and "I shall not be entangled again in the yoke of bondage" Galatians 5:1. "The yoke has been destroyed because of the anointing" Isaiah 10:27. That liberating anointing continually abides within me (I John 2:27).

4.  I see I am free from apologetic living.  Once I excused myself for not being a DO‑ER of the Word, because of my inability; now I know "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" Philippians 4:13.  Once I justified myself for being so weak; now I declare "Let him that is weak, say, I am strong" Joel 3:10.  I know "the Lord is the strength of my life" Psalm 27:1.

5.  What is there to be gained by being fearful, timid, inferior or apologetic? Now I heed the strong commands of the Bible to live boldly (Proverbs 28:1), to be confident (II Timothy 1:12), for being courageous (Joshua 1:9), and daring (Daniel 11:32).

6.  In Christ I am released from that conventional, barely‑able‑to‑keep‑head‑above‑water existence. I am no longer an apologist for bold Christian living! I make no allowance for weak, defeated, namby‑pamby living. I am not a defendant of the Christian faith; I am a witness!

7.  I see I am free from despondency (Philippians 4:4), pessimism (Romans 8:31), cowardice (Romans 8:37), the fear of man (Proverbs 29:251.  I see I am free from cold feet and a yellow streak. I am not white‑livered.  My God gives me backbone, and encourages me constantly by saying, "Be of good cheer."  Yes, yes, yes, I am free! . . . from sin, sickness, fear, oppression and demons.  I am free in prayer, praise, worship, giving and testimony.  "The Son hath made me free . . . indeed!"

BOLD LIVING CARD NO. 14

"For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them" Acts 8:7.

A man brought his wife to my office for counsel.  Immediately, it was evident the woman was under demon control.  As she spoke, there were wild expressions in her eyes and frantic gestures with her hands.  After about 20 minutes of counseling, I called several of my staff members to join me for ministry to the woman.  Shortly after we began to minister in Jesus' Name, the demons within the woman began to rage. As we cast out the spirits in Jesus' Name, they came out crying with a loud voice.  When the last of the satanic forces within her were expelled, she slumped over almost like a dead woman, completely at rest.

She opened her eyes, looked up, and asked, "What was that noise I heard so loud and terrible?  I feel so at peace now, what was that awful noise?"  I explained it was the demons that had controlled her life coming out as we exorcised them in Jesus' Name.

Indeed, the ministry of casting out evil spirits in Jesus' Name is one of the most needed and relevant ministries of our day.

I challenge you: do not just be an observer on this issue, but be one who actively participates in exorcising spirits. Get into the conflict. Engage in warfare.  There are multitudes who need your ministry of liberation.

The Lord will use you.  Be fearless.  The great power of God will come to your aid as you step out to release captives, to cast out devil spirits, to instruct people how to resist the devil.
