NOT BORN TO BE DEFEATED*

FIRST: When you were born‑again, you were not born to be defeated. You were born to be a conqueror. Declare it, "I am more than a conqueror through Christ!" (Rom. 8:37).
SECOND: When the going gets tough, the tough get going. God says, "Arise, go over!" Don't sit there in defeat. Quit brooding in bewilderment. Shake off that feeling of frustration, and arise . . . Get going, for God is for you! Confess it, "What shall we then say to these things; if God be for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:31.
THIRD: Here is how to triumph over that defeatist attitude: You have said, "I can't get my prayers answered." Now you say, "This is my confidence toward God . . . whatsoever I ask, I receive of Him, because I keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight" 1 John 3:21‑22. You have said. "I can't receive my healing." Now you say, "By His stripes I am healed" Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24. You have said, "I can't see my loved ones saved." Now you say, "I believe for the saving of my household." (Acts 16:31).
FOURTH: Joshua 1:2‑9 is God's formula for victory and success. Our part: "Arise, go over, he strong and of a good courage, be very courageous, be not afraid, neither be dismayed." God's part: "I will be with thee. I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. For the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." The result: "Then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success!"
FIFTH: With God nothing is hard. Jesus said, "Which is easier to say," not "which is harder to say," when He healed the palsied man.
SIXTH: Think victory, not defeat. Speak triumphant words, not defeat. Act like a conqueror, for in Christ . . . you are one!
