OVERCOMING A BAD CONFESSION* By Don Gossett (Make this a personal confession of faith.) 1. I cannot talk sickness and disease and walk in health. I cannot tell folks about my diseases and pains, mourning over my troubles, thereby obtaining everybody's sympathy, and be healed. By telling my troubles, sorrows, pains, and aches, I invite disease and nullify my right to Divine health. 2. I tell people my troubles in order to get their sympathy. But Peter said, "Casting all your cares upon Him, for He careth for you" 1 Peter 5:7. If men on earth will extend sympathy to me by hearing of my difficulties, how much more will my heavenly Father show compassion to me when I am in need. 3. I am learning to talk faith. Faith language is God's Word. Then I am a victor in every battle. I talk faith by speaking His Word: "By His stripes I am healed." "Himself took my infirmities and bear my sicknesses." "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever." "They shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover." 4. I shall not have a wrong confession, a bad confession. A wrong confession is giving place to Satan. I have stopped talking defeat, sickness and weakness. Defeat is of the devil. Weakness is of the devil. Disease is of the devil. As long as I am speaking about these things, I am praising Satan's works, and I can never expect to maintain victory by praising my adversary. 5. My lips shall be filled with faith words. "The Word of faith is nigh me, even in my mouth and in my heart" Romans 10:8. Now that I know that I am a faith talker, I no longer moan and groan; I praise and rejoice. Faith talks cheerfully. Faith sings wholeheartedly. Faith prays believingly. 6. I believe God's Word. I am bold in declaring it's truth. I confess only what God says. I dare to keep that confession. I don't change it every other day. God's Word is abiding in me and I am abiding in it. 7. I confess supremacy over the devil. I believe that I'm more than a conqueror over him. In Jesus' Name, I am a devil master. The devil knows that. He cannot rule me any longer! BOLD LIVING CARD NO. 93 From the Fly‑Leaf of My Bible By Don Gossett On the fly‑leaf of my most treasured Bible, I have written down things of significance, important when I wrote them, and vital even today. Some are original; others were imparted. These words are so personal to me that I was reluctant to share them. But here they are . . . to inspire and motivate you, even as they have my life. "God is limited to our faith, our obedience. God is as small in the world as we make Him. God is big only where some man or woman makes Him big, by using the divinely given authority. A sin in the heart binds the arms of God that would embrace a multitude. Our fear to be used binds God's omnipotence." Daily I shall see to it that my family has "fullness of joy" in Jesus. "Talk the way you'd like to be and you'll be the way you talk." "I have found that I must continually confess that He is in me. In every address that I give I confess God is living in me and He is ministering through me . . . I am endued with the ability of God." If you are quoting God's Word, you can be as bold as the Book." "In the Name of Jesus Christ, pain, leave this body. Woman, by His stripes you are healed. Go in peace and praise Him." "I do not need faith to use the Name of Jesus. All I need is boldness to use that Name that belongs to me." "Real living ,is being great now, being forgiving now, being tolerant now, being successful now, instead of postponing positive and constructive living to some vague and indefinite future." "It is wasting no time dreaming about the rich life you may live next year, or ten years from now; it is beginning to live at your best right today."
